Welcome to Rowangarth Cottage

Current location of the Kleczkowski Clan

How to find us:

We are on the outskirts of Clackmannan, a historic town in central Scotland. It is located close to Edinburgh and Glasgow (35 miles from each), Stirling (about 10 miles) and Dunfermline (about 14 miles), and the closest bigger town is Alloa (about 5 miles). Clackmannan is associated with the family of Robert Bruce, the king of Scotland in 13th/14th century. The Bruce family built a strategic tower-house which survives to this day and can be seen from our house. Tullygarth Farm Cottage, also called Rowangarth Cottage, is located on the Tullygarth Farm, a working sheep farm, overlooking the town of Clackmannan.

Our address is Tullygarth Farm, Clackmannan, FK10 4DH. If you type the postcode into Google Maps, it points to our house (called The Yd, for some reasons). Directions to our house depend on where you are coming from. Our house is just off the B910 road between Forestmill and Clackmannan.

Approaching from the North-East (M9, Perth): Leave M9 at junction 6 (Kinross/Kincardine) and then follow A977 direction Kincardine Bridge until you reach Forestmill. About a mile after Forestmill there is a junction signposted B910 where you should turn right. It is actually easier to turn into a lay-by, go through the parking lot and then turn right. Once on B910, go through Lynn Mill, under a former railway bridge, over a river bridge and immediately after the bridge turn left into a farm track. For further instructions see below.

Travelling from Edinburgh or Glasgow, you should aim to be on M876. Turn onto the new Clackmannanshire Bridge (A876), on the next roundabout turn first left (onto A977) and on the next roundabout turn first left again, signposted Kennet/Clackmannan. Go through Kennet and once in Clackmannan, look for a turn right, signposted B910. This turn is easy to miss so drive slowly! Once on B910, go over a railway bridge, under a road bridge (A907) and then turn right into a farm track. For further instructions see below.

Travelling from Stirling, go through Alloa to reach A907. However, do not continue on it, but at the roundabout with two figures (a boy and a girl) in the centre, take the second exit signposted Clackmannan/B910. Continue on the road as it goes through Clackmannan and watch for a turn left signposted B910 - this turn is just after a Thai take-away on your left. This turn is easy to miss so drive slowly! Once on B910, go over the railway bridge, under the road bridge (A907) and then turn right into a farm track.

All directions: There is a green sign 'Tullygarth' at the turn into the farm track. Continue on the road (beware of potholes!) turning right at the barriers and then right again at the farm. Our cottage is on the top of the hill.

The nearest train station is Alloa, reachable from Stirling which in turn is on the main line from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunblane and Aberdeen/Inverness. Clackmannan can be easily reached by bus from Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa. From Clackmannan it is a one mile walk to our house.
